Analysis of 2D contact problems under cyclic loads using IGABEM with Bézier decomposition

Non-uniform rational B-splines (NURBS) are a convenient way to integrate CAD software and analysis codes, saving time from the operator allowing efficient solution schemes that can be employed in of complex mechanical problems. In this paper, Isogeometric Boundary Element Method coupled with Bézier extraction NURBS conventional BEM used for 2D contact problems under cyclic loads. A node-pair approach is slip/stick state. Furthermore, extent area continuously updated account nonlinear geometrical behaviour problem. The Newton–Raphson’s method solving non-linear system. comparison analytical results presented assess performance efficiency proposed formulation. Both IGABEM show good agreement exact when it available. On most examples, they equivalent some advantage IGABEM, though former slightly more accurate situations.
